We are proud to be working with Atsiyan Services LP and the Stellat’en First Nation on two exciting projects. Having spent time in community with interest-holders, staff, membership, and leadership we can confidently say excitement is high!
Slenyah Redevelopment Project – For some time, the Client has envisioned an expansion and redevelopment of the existing Slenyah Store. With business planning complete, this is now a reality.
Situated along Highway 16, just west of Fraser Lake in Stellaquo, the redevelopment will replace the aging store and fuel infrastructure with a new Canco-branded gas bar and an expanded independent convenience store.
The Project represents both economic and community renewal, strengthening Slenyah’s position as a cornerstone business and trusted service provider for residents, regional workers, and travellers moving through northern British Columbia.
New Hotel Project – The Project addresses a long-standing shortage of quality accommodation along the Highway 16 corridor between Vanderhoof and Burns Lake. Existing lodging options in Fraser Lake are limited, dated, and widely viewed as inadequate. A recent structural fire at the Fraser Lake Inn further challenges the local market. As a result, a significant portion of visitor spending currently bypasses the community.
The Project is intended to address this gap by delivering a modern, professionally operated hotel that supports regional economic activity while generating sustainable, Nation-owned revenue. Through Hotel Project development, emphasis will be placed on meeting regional demand, cultural expression, and providing value and opportunity for Stellat’en Membership and the surrounding communities.
At the same time as advancing the new hotel project, the Client is exploring the feasibility and development pathways forward for the land on which the Hotel will be constructed. Stay tuned for updates!
