Chief Louis Crossing Projects - Business Planning and Project Management

Tk'emlups te Secwepemc

VisionQuest Advisors is honored to support Tk’emlups te Secwépemc through three projects and all phases, including feasibility study, business plan and implementation strategy, and now project management.

Sweláps Market: Like many other First Nations, Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc are driven to explore sustainable opportunities for employment creation, to facilitate food security, and to maximize the positive effects of local development. Owning and operating a Grocery Store is a goal within their Comprehensive Community Plan and Sweláps Market is the first step advancing the commercial portion of Lot 164 within the Chief Louis Centre. We are honored to support Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc turn their vision into reality and achieve the project’s key objectives:

  • To serve the needs of the community and build the grocery store within budget and on schedule.
  • To create new opportunities for partnerships, employment, and capacity development for members.
  • To reinforce Secwépemc cultural traditions.
  • To advance economic, social, and environmental sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Chief Louis Crossing Commercial Complex: Discover Chief Louis Crossing, the hub of community and commerce in the Tḱemlúps te Secwépemc. Located at the bustling intersection of Shuswap Road and Yellowhead Highway #5 and with convenient access and extensive highway frontage, it is an opportunity not to miss. Within Tḱemlúps te Secwépemc lands, it offers unique benefits to Indigenous entrepreneurs and shoppers alike. This project will minimize economic leakage and bring in new revenue from outside of the community. It will position the community from a business perspective, and respond to community needs as noted in the Comprehensive Community Plan. Learn more on this project through the website linked under “Opportunities”.

New Gas Bar and QSR: This new gas bar will build from the strong performance of the existing Tḱemlúps  Petro-Canada. As part of broader development plans, it will help drive traffic to the Chief Louis Crossing commercial complex. It will provide benefit not only to our membership but all our friends who reside on or travel to the TteS. This project further demonstrates our readiness and drive to support business development. TteS is fully open for business!
